We take a look at the record progression of the Men's 4x100m Freestyle Relay at the Olympic games with these 3 iconic teams.
At Munich 1972, the USA relay team of Edgar, Murphy, Heidenreich & Spitz broke the then Olympic & world record with a time of 3:26.42.
The Australian relay team of Klim, Fydler, Callus, Thorpe won gold in a time of 3:13.67 at their home Olympic games in Sydney.
The current Olympic and world record of 3:08.24 was set at the 2008 Beijing Olympics by the USA relay team of Phelps, Weber-Gale, Jones & Lezak.
